Audi has revamped its popular TT to include a new front end and interior tweaks.
Most notably Audi has added xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights as standard on S line versions. On the front, the bumper has been tweaked to incorporate deeper air intakes. These were previously only seen on S line versions.
The trim levels have also been simplified. The 'standard' trim will be reserved for the entry level model - the TT Roadster 1.8-litre TFSI - although you can upgrade this version to Sport or S line specification for an additional cost.
All other versions of the Coupe and Roadster (excluding the TTS and TT RS) start at Sport and can be upgraded to S line.
Audi has given S line models a sportier look. The bumper and grille has been re-jigged to resemble the TTS. The car is further enhanced by deeper side sills and a new platinum grey rear spoiler.
Meanwhile, the TTS has received tweaks on the front and rear bumpers to freshen it up.
On the inside, the steering wheel, the centre console and the door liners have been touched up with an aluminum effect.
Under the bonnet, the 2.0-litre TFSI engine has been upgraded and fuel efficiency has risen by 14%. This power plant delivers about 211bhp and can get from zero to 62mph in 6.1 seconds with a top speed of 152mph.
This engine is a little more eco-friendly than its predecessor. It emits 154g/km of CO2 and returns an average of 43mpg. Audi has added an onboard computer with an efficiency program that displays the consumption data on the central display. There is also an optimum gear-change indicator to help drivers conserve fuel.
At the top end, the TT RS remains the flagship car. It is available in coupe and roadster guise. The 2.5-litre engine produces around 340bhp. The coupe has a top speed of 155mph and it can get from zero to 62mph in 4.4 seconds. Top speed is governed but it can be raised to 174mph for an additional cost.
Standard equipment on the entry level TT includes 17-inch alloy wheels, traction control, four airbags, electronic stability control (ESP), aluminum interior detailing, climate control.
Expect the revamped model to start from around £25,000.
