Nissan has given its X-Trail model a whole host of exterior and interior design tweaks as well as improvements to the manual six-speed gearbox and diesel engine.
The biggest changes have come at the front of the car with a newly designed grille, head lights and bumper. These changes have given the car a more dynamic look according to the Japanese manufacturer.
At the back of the car the rear lights have been given a small design change with the addition of LED light technology for running lights and brake lights.
It now has a greater stance on the road too thanks to an increase in wheel size which has resulted in the wheel arches also growing in size to give a more dominant look. Overall the X-Trail has grown 10mm in length as well as 10mm in height and width.
Inside the car has also been upgraded with softer touch materials that surround the switches on the steering wheel, gear stick and armrest.
The dials have also been changed so that they are bigger and clearer while the trip computer has also been changed to make it easier read. This offers drivers infromation on fuel economy, outside temperature with ice warning, range, average speed and a reminder to drivers to take a break.
Rear passengers now get 10mm extra leg room because of re-designs to the front seats and customers can now specify heated seats in the back. The improvement in rear passengers' leg room is welcome as the current model isn't the roomiest in the back.
There have been some minor mechanical improvements with the diesel choice being updated making it cleaner and the manual gearbox has been improved for better emissions and fuel consumption.
It also gets a gearshift indicator which advises on the best time to change gear to help maximise fuell efficiency.
The new X-Trail models will be delivered from October with prices expected to start at around £24,000
