Mazda is to launch a mildly facelifted version of its Mazda6 family car in early 2010.
External changes include new light units front and rear, plus revised designs of alloy wheel and a refreshed front grille.
Interior changes include a new finish for the centre console, new steering wheel design and some minor specification changes.
However, most of the changes have taken place under the skin, with revised suspension for better ride and handling, and an improved range of petrol and diesel engines - all claimed to offer lower emissions and increased fuel economy.
Full details of the new engines will not be revealed until the car makes its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in early March.
