Suzuki has unveiled pictures of the new Swift set to go on sale in the UK in autumn.
It is made from stronger steel and has an increased track and larger diameter wheels. This wider stance promises improved handling and stability.
Under the bonnet there's a new 93bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine delivering 118Nm of pulling power.
The Swift returns 56.5mpg for the manual transmission model - an improvement of 7.8mpg over the previous 1.3-litre unit. CO2 Emissions come out at 116g/km, which is a reduction of 24g/km from the previous 1.3-litre unit. This engine will also be available with an optional automatic gearbox.
A Euro 5 compliant 1.3-litre diesel engine emitting 109g/km with an average fuel economy of 67.3mpg will be available in early 2011.
Full UK specification and pricing are still to be confirmed but Parker's expects trim line-ups to remain the same and pricing to start at less than £10,000.
