Nissan has unveiled prices for the revised X-Trail 4x4, which can be ordered now, with deliveries starting in October.
The entry-level Acenta model is priced at £23,995, undercutting competitors like the Honda CR-V ES diesel by £685 and the Land Rover Freelander GS by £1,000.
Standard equipment on the Acenta includes climate control, body-coloured electrically adjustable door mirrors, privacy glass, automatic lights and wipers, front fog lamps and 17-inch alloy wheels.
The top specification Tekna model costs £27,495, with extra features including power folding door mirrors, xenon headlights, panoramic sunroof and leather seats. It also comes with an entertainment package which adds a hard-disk music system, satellite navigation, a rear-view camera and BOSE audio with nine speakers.
For the 2.0-litre dCi manual, with 171bhp, emissions have been improved from 198g/km of CO2 down to 168g/km. This has moved the car from tax band J, where it cost £425, into band H, with it now costing £250.
The 148bhp 2.0-litre dCi automatic has also seen improvements with CO2 emissions dropping from 216g/km to 188g/km, meaning tax is now £125 less at £425.
Despite the improvments in economy and emissions the X-Trail can still tow a trailer of up to 2,220kg, has 360Nm of pulling power and can accelerate from 0-62mph in 10 seconds.
Other updates include a new manual gearbox, improvements to the automatic transmission, low rolling resistance tyres and lightweight alloys.
