Volkswagen has confirmed pricing for the new Caddy van.
The range starts from £12,100 excluding VAT for the 1.6-litre 74bhp TDI diesel engine, while the 1.6-litre 101bhp TDI diesel engine Caddy Maxi will start from £14,050 excluding VAT.
The new Caddy is the fourth generation. VW has revamped the model with a fresh look and there is a new range of engines to bolster the line-up. There are more optional extras than on the previous generation including a seven-speed DSG gearbox, four-wheel drive, Bluetooth connectivity, adaptive cornering lights and roof rails.
Standard equipment across the range includes Electronic Stabilisation Programme (ESP), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), traction control, automatic hazard lights activation under emergency braking, a driver's airbag, speed sensitive power steering, remote central locking and a CD stereo with an aux-in socket.
Green technology will be available on the Caddy as two BlueMotion models have been added to the line-up. These variants will be powered by a 1.6-litre diesel engine with two power outputs - 74bhp and 101bhp. To keep emissions low these models use stop/start technology and automatic battery regeneration during braking and have aerodynamic wheel arch spoilers.
The BlueMotion with the 100bhp power output has the lowest CO2 emissions of the Caddy range at 134g/km and it should average 55.4mpg. This gives a potential range of 735 miles on one tank of diesel.
Order books open on September 27 for the new VW Caddy with first deliveries expected to start in November.
