Volkswagen has introduced a fixed-price maintenance scheme for cars between three and 10 years old.
There are now set prices for servicing, MOT testing and cosmetic repairs, available for the majority of cars in the VW range. An MOT will cost just £30, a minor service £119 (a major one costing £229) and having all four alloy wheels refurbished will cost £60.
There are fixed prices for stone chip and dent removal, special offers on courtesy cars and customer pick-ups, and VW will even wash your car for you if it's in the garage for an hour or more.
Service plans where you get two services for £299 and free MOT testing for the duration of your plan have also been introduced at VW garages. This is available for any car over 90 days old meaning that even if your car isn't three years old yet you can still take advantage of this offer.
The deal is available to any customer with a VW between three and 10 years old with an engine under 2.0 litres. This will include the majority of VWs on the road, but customers with cars that have larger engines might find that VW garages will include them in parts of the scheme.
The German company hopes the new transparent pricing structure will encourage customers to stick with VW franchised dealers rather than going to an independent garage in search of better value.
VW is so keen to keep the business that its franchised dealers will at least match a like-for-like quote from a local independent workshop located within a five-mile radius.
