Full details and prices have been announced for the all-new Volvo S60, which is available to order now with first customer deliveries in August.
The entry level D3 ES costs £23,295 and the the top-of-the-range T6 AWD SE Lux Geartronic Premium is priced at £36,745.
The all-new S60 is a four-door coupé featuring a choice of two diesels and one petrol engine. The newly developed five-cylinder 2.0-litre D3 engine produces 163bhp and 400Nm of torque and the manual returns 54.3mpg. The twin-turbo D5 powerplant produces 205bhp and 420Nm of torque, accelerates from 0-62mph in 7.8 seconds with an average fuel consumption of 53.3mpg.
The high-performance model is the T6, which has an updated 3.0-litre six-cylinder 304bhp petrol engine producing 440Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0-62mph in 6.5 seconds and onto a top speed of 155mph, while offering average fuel consumption of 28.5mpg.
It features Pedestrian Detection with Full Auto Brake system that, with the help of a camera fitted in front of the interior rear-view mirror, can detect any object in front of the car and determine the distance to it. If the car thinks it's going to hit something the driver first receives an audible warning combined with a flashing light in the windscreen's head-up display but if the driver does not react full braking power is automatically applied.
It can avoid a collision with a pedestrian at speeds of up to 21mph. At higher vehicle speeds, the system's focus is on reducing the car's speed as much as possible prior to the impact, with the speed falling by up to 21mph.
Pedestrian Detection combined with ACC (adaptive cruise control) with Distance Alert, Queue Assist and Collision Warning with Full Auto Brake is available as an option for £1,350.
Standard features on the S60 include climate control, cruise control, a five-inch colour screen as part of the new Infotainment system, floor mats, steering wheel remote audio controls, alloy wheels and leather steering wheel and gear stick.
