Nissan has unveiled a limited edition Juke that's designed to appeal to those who are particularly fashion conscious.

Called the Kuro, which means black in Japanese, it's based on the top specification Tekna model and adds black alloys, black door mirrors and black door handles. Extensive changes, we're sure you'll agree.

Nissan says "as with all fashion items, a label is crucial" - so each one of the 700 limited editions will receive a special numbered plaque fitted to the centre console.

The Kuro is available with a choice of two paint finishes - metallic black and red - which Nissan claims "would complement the contents of any wardrobe".

To widen the appeal of the new special edition, the full range of Juke engines are available. Buyers can pick from the entry-level 1.6-litre petrol, as well as the 1.5-litre diesel and the range-topping 187bhp turbocharged 1.6-litre petrol called the DIG-T. Automatic and four-wheel drive versions will be available too.

As it's based on the Tekna model, it comes well equipped with climate control, cruise control, a trip computer, heated leather seats and tinted rear windows.

The Kuro does command a premium of £900 over the 'standard' Tekna model. That may seem quite a hike for some minor changes, but metallic paint is a £455 option alone while upgraded alloys cost an extra £919. That means that it could well be worth considering if you're looking for a top specification Juke with some options, as you could stand to save some money.

The new Kuro version of the Nissan Juke is available to order now, with deliveries expected to start on 1 October. Prices start at £17,395 for the Kuro 1.6-litre petrol.
