Geneva 2012: Fiat

  • Fiat unveils the new 500L, a five-door 500
  • Claims to seat five adults in comfort
  • Both petrol and diesel engines available

Written by Parkers Published: 6 March 2012

Just one main attraction on the Fiat stand – the 500L. There’s also a large group of Pandas (cars, not bears).

Parkers Pick – 500L

  • What is it? The L stands for large, and the 500 stands for 500. That’s right; this is a large Fiat 500. Click here for Car Magazine’s take on the 500L.
  • Vital stats and facts: Available with a pair of petrol engines – TwinAir and 1.4-litre – and a single diesel one – 1.3-litre MultiJet II. The 500L claims to seat five adults in something close to comfort.
  • Why would you buy it? You’re in the market for a stylish small car, but need some room inside.
  • Why wouldn’t you? There are slightly bigger hatchbacks that do the job equally well. Plus why would you pick this over the all-new Panda?
  • Prices and launch date: Prices aren’t available yet but launch is expected in the last quarter of 2012.

What else is on the stand?

There are lots of variants of the new Panda. Interestingly, it’s hard to tell that and the 500L apart.
