New cars on show: IS range, Opal Blue LF-LC, IS 300h F Sport
Lexus IS range (main picture)
The new Lexus IS saloon range has been unveiled at the Geneva motor show. There are two versions, the petrol-engined Lexus IS 250 and the hybrid Lexus IS 300h.
Powering the IS 250 is a 2.5-litre V6 engine with 204bhp, while the IS 300h combines a four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor. The IS 300h is the first Lexus IS model to be fitted with the company’s Hybrid Drive system and emits just 99g/km of CO2 with average fuel consumption of 65mpg.
The hybrid system’s battery is positioned underneath the boot floor and Lexus says bootspace is only marginally smaller than that of the conventionally-powered IS 250.
An ‘F Sport’ package is available for both models, with more aggressive exterior styling details along with more supportive seats and special interior trim. F Sport versions also have a slightly altered suspension and power steering set-up for more responsive handling.
Both versions are available to order now, before reaching UK roads in July.

Opal Blue LF-LC
Basically the LF-LC 2+2 hybrid sports gets a nice new blue paint job. The premium car maker tells us that this showcases its sporting new image and with a fully driver-focused interior, it’s er… more sporty.
F Sport
The stand also includes the F Sport full hybrid models and the headline act here is the IS 300h F Sport.
