Autoglym Professional has unveiled Instant Ceramic Coating – a new protective car product that acts like ceramic coating that is far quicker and easier to apply.
It provides ceramic coating-like protection thanks to a hybrid polymer-resin construction, only it’s far quicker to apply by virtue of the bonding process.
And while spray-on protection is usually the weakest way to protect your car, this spray should offer nearly the same protection as a proper ceramic coating. It can even be applied in rain and features a nice tropical scent.
The Instant Ceramic Coating should offer three months of durable hydrophobic protection and a very deep shine, perfect for making darker coloured cars stand out.

Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Wash & Wax Car Shampoo

Avoid having to set aside time to separately ceramic coat your car with this. Some manufacturers have combined car shampoo with wax but Turtle Wax has taken it further by introducing ceramic coating that is applied at the same time as the shampoo. It won’t offer the ultimate ceramic protection but it is still an effective way to protect your car’s paintwork.

Spray-on ceramic coating isn’t as powerful as a proper ceramic coating but if you’re in a hurry then it’s still a decent choice. Simply spray on, wash off and buff with a microfibre cloth and it’ll offer a decent amount of protection.

What is ceramic coating?
Liquid silicon dioxide (SiO2) polymers, or silica is the component that provides the ceramic coating to cars. It reacts with the paintwork to form a durable, hydrophobic bond, much like traditional car wax.
However, while even the best synthetic wax can only last for 12 months, professionally applied ceramic waxes can last for years. The trade-off is that professionally applied ceramic coating is rather arduous. It requires several hours to bake in, during which time the car cannot be exposed to direct sunlight or water.
Liquid and spray-on ceramic coating is a lot easier to apply but will not last as long.
It isn’t some impenetrable armour however, it’ll help stop contaminants building up on your car and small scratches and blemishes appearing, but it won’t stop stone chips or a ding from another car.
