Eufy Clean H20 vacuum cleaner review

  • Handheld vacuum cleaner designed for cars tested
  • More powerful than your typical dustbuster
  • Our favourite handheld vacuum?

Written by Ryan Gilmore Updated: 16 August 2023

The ability to keep a vacuum cleaner in your car ready to go whenever it’s needed sounds really tempting. Instead of having to lug a household corded vacuum out to the car when a bag of crisps goes awry, simply reach for something like the lightweight Eufy Clean H20 whenever you need it sounds so much more convenient.

When so many handheld vacuum cleaners lack the power to suck up a particularly big particle of dust, this handheld vacuum cleaner promises enough power to actually get the job done. Boasting 40AW (Air Watts) from the motor, this handheld vacuum cleaner has a much beefier motor than a typical dustbuster, without excessive weight or a rubbish run-time.

Designed with car care in mind, we introduced the H20 to the interior of a slightly grubby press car and set to work seeing if this door bin-sized vacuum can really be all you need to keep your car crumb-free.

Verdict: Sling it in your boot for quick cleaning, just don’t expect it to replace a corded vacuum full-time.

It is designed with car care in mind. The included 12V charging socket is the most obvious example of this, allowing for the device to be recharged without ever needing to leave the car. The H20 is charged via USB-C, meaning the included socket can also be used to charge an array of gadgets when the vacuum is fully juiced.

The attachments are also perfectly designed for car care. The long crevice tool proved useful for getting into nooks and crannies, while the flexible tube means you’re never forced to hold the vacuum at an awkward angle. The soft bristle head was perfectly fine for carpets too. Another nice touch for interior cleaning was a small LED light that was adept at lighting up footwells for maximum crumb collection. Best of all, it all zips up into a bag you can quite happily chuck in the boot or under a seat when it’s not needed.

For basic cleaning, it was at home collecting dust and other small debris from all manner of interior surfaces. It left carpets, leather and fabric upholstery free of dust and lifted the light dust from the infotainment screen and trim. It struggled on embedded hairs, which probably rules this out for pet owners.

The runtime was also a pleasant surprise too, lasting the advertised 30 minutes on a single full charge. Unless you’re vacuuming limousines a single charge should be more than enough to clean your car.

What’s okay?

Despite its small size, the ergonomics aren’t the best we’ve tried. The chunky handle isn’t the most comfortable to hold for long periods of time, even if the low weight means it’s never cumbersome to carry for long periods of time. A slimmer handle would make it a lot easier to hold.

The extendable nozzle that’s built into the vacuum head isn’t as good as hoped either. It only extends about two centimetres which makes very little difference to any cleaning chore. Thankfully the proper crevice and flexible nozzles provided that much-needed manoeuvrability for vacuuming tight spots in a car interior.

Any negatives?

Like any handheld, battery-powered example, it lacks the raw power of a corded vacuum cleaner. For a really deep clean of a car’s interior, you’re still best to go looking for a plug and setting to work with something more heavy-duty. Don’t expect to be able to create carpet stripes or be able to such up debris larger than gravel with the H20, but something of this size will never realistically do that.

A big irritant is the clear dustbin. While this gives a clear indication of when the H20 needs emptying, it also traps dust and debris in the far corners of the bin, where they cannot be easily cleaned out.  What this means is you’ll always have some dust inside the bin, visible but unreachable.

Who tested it?

Ryan Gilmore is the Deputy Commercial Content Editor for Parkers. Cutting his teeth testing all the products you’d use to clean a car, finding the flaws in a vacuum cleaner has become second nature to him. And with the Parkers long-termer fleet a veritable goldmine for vacuuming, he’s always got something in need of a clean.

How it was tested

The Eufy Clean H20 was first used to test a press car, cleaning the boot, front seats, floor mats and dashboards. This allowed us to test the battery life, performance and manoeuvrability of the vacuum. It has since been used to regularly spruce up the seats of Ryan’s car and lives in the boot of his car ready for collecting crumbs at a moment’s notice.
