The one area you should always spend a little more has to be on tyres, and even well-into December, there are still the same Black Friday deals to be had on tyres. It’s often not until we get a flat or the MOT tester issues and advisory that we begin to think about renewing them.
Car tyre deals are still live and at the same discounted prices across the web. This includes some serious savings on Michelin, Pirelli and more top-rated tyre brands. Keep an eye on this page for some great tyre deals before Christmas.
In the world of tyres, it’s safer to pay for a premium brand and swallow the cost with the peace of mind your tyres are designed to be as safe as possible in the event of an emergency stop or wet weather cornering. But just because you should be looking for reputable brands, it doesn’t mean you need to pay top prices.

Car tyre deals are on big discounts for Christmas
Black Friday has passed, but surprisingly, deals on tyres are still exactly the same on Demontweeks as they were during the Black Friday period. This includes all the top brands including Pirelli, Michelin, Hankook, Continental and more. There’s no better time to save on your next set of rubber, so take advantage now.
How long do car tyres last?
This depends on a number of factors: how many miles you cover in a year, what sort of vehicle you’re driving, and what surfaces you drive on. If you cover 10,000-miles a year, the tyres on that vehicle will wear out faster than the same make and model on a vehicle that’s covering 3,000-miles a year in the same conditions.
The main rule of thumb is the legal minimum tread depth; tyre treads need to be at least 1.6mm deep throughout, otherwise your vehicle will fail its MOT, or if caught on the road, will land you with a fine of up to £2,500 and three penalty points – for each tyre.
To help prevent this eventuality, getting the tyres changed once that tread depth reaches the 3mm mark is our recommendation. You can check this with a tyre tread depth gauge for the best reading of accuracy.
Tyre maintenance is another factor to consider. If you overinflate your tyres above the recommended pressure, they will wear out more quickly than they would normally. We recommend not leaving it too long before getting your tyres replaced, either. A set that’s over 7-years-old will need close monitoring, and tyres beyond that age will not be as effective on the road as a younger or fresh set.
What tyres do I need for my car?
That is entirely vehicle and wheel dependent. Wheels and tyres on cars come in many different sizes, and the best way of checking your tyre size is by reading the outer sidewall. With a tyre labelled 195/40/R18 for instance, the first three-digit number (195) is the width of the tyre. The next two-digit number (40) is the tyre profile from the edge to the wheel rim, and the R18 part is the size of the wheel rim it fits on.
There are also speed ratings to consider, and each car model and tyre will have a unique one. It’s a two-digit number followed by a letter, such as 86Y.
The easiest way to check if a discounted tyre fits your vehicle if by seeing if you can match one to your current tyre’s specifications. If not, then using a filtering tool is the best option – where you can type in your tyre specs before seeing what tyres are available for you.
When is Black Friday 2025?
Black Friday takes place on November 28th 2025, which will be followed by Cyber Monday taking place on 1st December. The Black Friday sales event will take place around a week beforehand, where you can grab those tasty deals.
