Watching the mercury drop is a sure-fire way to put off working your car and cold hand tools, a nip in the air and dark evenings don’t make for ideal tinkering conditions. Add in the fact most garages and shed don’t have any insulation and even the quickest of DIY jobs become a frozen faff of misery that leaves most people simply not bothering.
There’s no guarantee these space heaters will inspire you to complete an engine change all on your own this winter, but they’ll at least allow you to take your gloves off when changing a tyre or topping up your engine oil. They can even be used in your home for a little extra warmth.
What you need to know about space heaters
Will you store it when it’s not in use? Come summer you won’t be needing any extra heating and it’s more than likely you’ll want to stow it away and swap it for a portable air conditioning unit. A smaller option won’t heat as well but will be easier to store. And if space is a real premium it’s probably worth considering a fan heater that doubles as an air conditioning unit.
Do you want it to be used in your home too? If you’re needing some extra heating in your home, one of these space heaters is a clever option. All will be effective at heating an average room and the only considerations you’ll need to make will be regarding aesthetics.
