Worx Nitro Hydroshot
Price: £199.99 – buy now from Amazon UK
Trying to pick a suitable winner was no easy task. We’ve been quite lucky at Parkers because most things we test are easily four- or five-star products, with the odd three-star item on test every once in a while – and very rarely worse.
It hit us, however, because for nearly a year, we’ve been using one product that’s served us from the frosty depths of winter to the toughest cleaning tasks in the heart of spring. The Worx Nitro Hydroshot WG633.E was our stablemate, our companion, our partner in grime, serving anything from a SEAT Ateca to one of the last Jaguar XFs.
Boasting amazing build quality, a smooth running operation, and a healthy battery life with the 4.0Ah unit hooked up, no competitor can come close to Worx’s capabilities. There’s a reassuring level of durability and easiness to the Nitro Hydroshot’s ergonomics: it’s the tomato sauce of pressure washers. Simple, effective, and you’ll just keep going back to it.

HIGHLY COMMENDED
Dyson V12 Detect
Price: £549.99 – Buy from Dyson UK
We’ve tried out various vacuum cleaners on all sorts of vehicles, from handheld devices to powerful wet and dry units. A true standout, however, comes in the form of the Dyson V12 Detect. It topped the leaderboard in our recent vacuum group test. It’s not heavy, so you can easily move it around, and the whole package feels a good few years ahead of its competitors.
Furthermore, not only does it feel smooth under operation, it’s not that noisy either. And above all, it’s almost the be-all and end-all of handheld vacuum cleaner suction. I say almost because its competitors were equally impressive, but the engineering behind the V12 surpasses them all by a slight margin and one that is wholeheartedly deserved.

Milenco HS Steering Wheel Lock
Price: £71.81 – Buy from Amazon UK
In an ideal world, the most recommended steering wheel locks for motorists would be the Disklok Gold or Diamond editions. However, while they boast angle grinder-proof properties, they aren’t the easiest things to live with, so you will have to get used to the bulkiness and the storage.
These issues aren’t evident with the Milenco HS steering wheel lock. It represents better value for money and is a doddle to get on/off. A compromise of course, is the fact it’s less secure than the big Disklok. However, the HS can still withstand a ‘professional’ attack lasting around 300 seconds, as stamped by the thorough, well-respected accreditation firm Sold Secure. For optimum vehicle security, it’s hard to beat an item like this.
