The best cars for £200 per month 2025 - the best PCP and PCH picks in this competitive price sector

  • Deals on everything from SUVs to hatchbacks
  • Great value leasing (PCH) and finance (PCP) options
  • Manageable deposits and monthly payments

You’re not the only person looking at cars in the best cars for £200 per month range – this article is among the most popular in our suite of new car deal pages. Despite rising prices and increasing interest rates, there are still lots of great cars available for around £200 per month.

That’s good news because £200 is roughly 10% of the average salary in the UK, and that’s what many finance experts consider a sensible amount to spend on a car. The other good news is that there are some really great cars available for around £200 (and up to £220 for those who can stretch a little) and we’ve found the ones we think represent the best value at this price point.

This list highlights both personal contract hire (PCH) – or lease – deals and a couple of our favourite personal contract purchase (PCP) deals. As this is a very competitive price point with lots of special offers available, we’ll be continuously updating this page with the latest offers.

Remember that prices can fluctuate day-to-day for leasing rates (known as PCH), so there may be times a car jumps out of our price parameters. But fear not, the leasing rate may return back down in a couple of days. Financing (or PCPs) is altogether more stable and will rarely budge for at least a couple of months.

Best new cars for lease for £200 a month 2025

Tremendous value for this award-winning EV

Expert rating:

4.5
The fact that you can lease a Renault Scenic E-Tech for just over £200 per month makes it an early front-runner for bargain of the year. It's a roomy, all-electric family SUV and a two-time award winner here at Parkers, including the coveted 2025 Car of The Year.

We love the real-world range of over 300 miles from the enormous battery pack. We also love the sharp driving dynamics, partly thanks to the relatively low weight for an EV. The interior is nicely trimmed and, even in base spec, comes with plenty of premium gadgetry. It's a genuine steal at this price.

Bestselling family car staple

Expert rating:

4.0
If the idea of an EV isn't your bag, the Nissan Qashqai makes for a superb petrol-powered family SUV. It remains in the upper echelons of the UK's bestselling car lists, and a recent new front end has kept it fresh.

It is stellar value for money at less than £200 per month. The standard equipment is generous, and the tech is well-implemented. It's pretty enjoyable to drive too, and it always feels safe and secure. The downside? The mild hybrids at this price point aren't our pick of the range. They're refined and frugal but a little weedy against the E-Power Hybrid model.

A premium feel on a budget

Expert rating:

4.0
The latest MINI Cooper is a plush and charming car. Its revised styling and new interior make it feel premium beyond its price tag. Although it may have lost its manual gearbox option, the car still feels a joy to drive, as any good MINI should.

The MINI's rear space is limited, and the boot is tiny, so skip it if you frequently ferry more than one passenger around. But as a premium second car or something for a DINK household, it's perfect. You can even have it as an EV for the same cash as a petrol model.

The quiet hero of the family SUV world

Expert rating:

4.0
Renault is in a golden age of making funky, affordable cars at the moment. The current Captur is a smart-looking family SUV that's one of the finest in its class. The interior quality punches well above its weight, and it’s decently spacious, too. It even drives and handles fairly nicely.

For a car that counts bestsellers such as the Ford Puma and Nissan Juke among its rivals, it offers a lot of quality for your money. If you have your heart set on a small SUV, a Captur should be near the top your shopping list.

The sensible way to go electric

Expert rating:

4.0
The Volkswagen ID.3 is one of the most affordable ways to go electric without compromise. Recently refreshed with new styling and an updated infotainment system, it offers a more compelling package. It finally features all the hallmarks you'd expect from the German brand.

Futuristic styling subtly flexes its eco credentials, while the interior has been toned down and packed with better-quality plastics. You'll likely get the smaller battery for £200 a month, but with a range of 270 miles, it'll serve as a family car with no issue. Pair this with some excellent leasing offers, and it's just the ticket to going electric.

A wide range of options for this family hatchback

Expert rating:

4.0
Living in the shadow of the Volkswagen Golf and Ford Focus, the Astra has diligently built a reputation as a solid choice for family duties, even if it lacks the badge prestige or driving dynamics as its key rivals.

What the Astra does have in its corner, however, is value, especially when it comes to leasing. You'll have the pick of the range for under £200 per month, including hybrids, fully electric examples, and even a sports-adjacent GS model for less than £200. Quality is better than you might expect, and it's even pleasant to drive.

Rock-solid supermini

Expert rating:

3.5
The Volkswagen Polo is a rational pick above everything else; it's the automotive equivalent of bran flakes. It champions practicality and efficiency above driving engagement or jazzy styling, which makes it a fine small car, especially at this price point.

There's still a lot to like about the Polo, especially for someone wanting something for an easy life. It's spacious for a supermini, and the interior technology is slick to use and bang up-to-date. Driving is refined and comfortable, if a little dull.

Stylish and wallet-friendly EV

Expert rating:

4.5
There's palpable excitement in the air about the new Renault 5 E-Tech. Look at it for a start; it oozes retro charm without being a case of style over substance. It's a practical small car at heart, and both comfortable and fun to drive.

Then there's the value. It's not hard to see why Renault won our New Car Finance award for 2025 with the exceptionally competitive rates available across the 5 E-Tech range. With tempting 0% APR rates and monthly payments as low as £182 to 5.5% APR examples with tiny deposits, the 5 E-Tech is shaping up to be a spectacular value for money.

Seven seats for buttons

Expert rating:

4.0
Who else but Dacia could offer seven usable seats on a finance deal for less than £200 per month? The Jogger is a lot of car for your money and not as austere as the price tag may lead you to believe. Our financing pick even comes with heated front seats.

It's simple and spacious, and we adore it, to be honest. Even the relatively larger cars on this list don't come near the Jogger's value. You can get the - admittedly - thrashy hybrid model for as little as £138 per month, but our pick is the generously-equipped Extreme model.

The Renault Clio is back on top of the supermini class, and now more desirable than ever. Now sporting a hybrid system, the Clio E-Tech is more frugal to run, even if the system is a little course. What really stands in the Renault's favour is the value for money it offers, and the high build quality.

The interior is a real high-point. It's plush and comfortable and sports a user-friendly and slick infotainment system. You'll comfortably be able to either lease or fiance one for less than £200 a month. It won't be some boggo version either, we found the range-topping Esprit Alpine for £199 a month PCP.

Amazing value for money, if you don't mind the range

Expert rating:

3.0
Brimming with style and premium touches, the MX-30 makes for a interesting but fundamentally flawed take on an EV. The only fully-electric Mazda on sale, it's a nice car to drive and the interior is a lovely place to be, and makes use of interesting, eco-friendly materials like cork.

What harms the MX-30 is its rubbish EV range and cramped rear seats, which even generous rear-hinged back doors can't make accessible. However, a huge £6,000 deposit contribution and 0% finance on a car that costs £27,995 does make it one of the most affordable EVs to finance. For that reason alone it's worth a query.
