Car subscriptions are an increasingly popular means of getting a great new car deal. Some manufacturers offer their own subscription services including Jaguar Land Rover, Volvo and Hyundai. Audi doesn’t have an in-house service, but there are third-party car subscription providers you can get an Audi from.
For a time, Audi had a partnership with electric car subscriptions specialist Onto, which did special deals on the Audi e-tron SUV. However, Onto went into administration in September 2023, so that deal is no longer available. Existing Onto customers are able to keep hold of their cars until the end of their contracts.
Various Audis, including electric models, are available through Flexed. Technically speaking, Flexed does short-term leases of one to 12 months, however the package they offer is much the same as a subscription with road tax and breakdown cover included. Other providers are available – a search online should highlight the best deals.
A subscription or short-term lease can be a good way of finding out if an electric car is suitable for your needs, without committing to buying one. Some subscription providers do multi-year deals including insurance and service plans in the cost. There’s often no deposit to pay, either; if there is, it’s usually quite a small amount.
Short-term subscriptions can also be a good way of swapping between lots of different cars. That can be a great way for an enthusiast to get a flavour of what cars are like to live with, or you can use it as a means of assessing your options before committing to a purchase.
Most subscription providers exist entirely online. Make sure you read through the website carefully so you understand exactly what the package includes and are aware of any extra charges that may apply.
