Ford is offering new car buyers up to six months of payment holidays in a bid to keep customers buying cars during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The Ford “Peace of Mind” programme, for April and May, allows customers to defer the first three monthly payments, while the next three will be covered by Ford via a single payment, capped at between £650-£1,500 depending on the car.
This can be used in conjunction with Ford’s 0% APR deals, that span nearly all of Ford’s new cars. Buyers of some Ford cars, like the massively popular Fiesta, can opt out of paying anything for the first six months of the agreement.
The offer applies to cars on Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) agreements, and vans on Hire Purchase (HP) deals.
Precis of Ford Peace of Mind Ts&Cs
>> Customers can still order a car online, despite showrooms being closed. And for select customers (key workers, first-time Motability scheme users, and companies involved in combating the emergency), cars can be delivered by a mutually convenient and safe way.
>> Cars ordered between April and May are expected to be delivered by the end of 2020.
>> Offer available on cars only on two- or three-year PCP agreements.
Excluded Fords
Vehicles excluded from this promotion are: Mondeo Zetec Edition, Kuga Titanium PHEV, Mustang Bullitt, and Mustang Mach-E.
Fords not available with 0% APR
The Fiesta ST, Focus Style, Focus ST, Puma, Kuga, Mustang, Electric Mustang Mach-e and Tourneo Custom are not available with 0% APR. This means during your deferment period, you’ll still be accruing interest payments.
Ford of Britain MD, Andy Barratt, said: ‘Ford wants to reassure customers that unprecedented times should not prevent them opting for a replacement new car or van. Customers are putting a new-found priority on reliable motoring from a trusted brand and our innovative ‘Peace of Mind’ programme helps achieve that.’
What this means for you
Decent-sized discounts on new Fords. Especially good for those that need a new car right now, but are unsure of short-term financial situations. Do remember that deferrals still need paying.
