Cars on show: Leon Cupra sets Nurburgring record, Mii by Mango
New Leon Cupra masters the Nurburgring
Not so long ago, only die-hard car enthusiasts and racing fans had heard of the Nurburgring, but now it’s part of the marketing message of almost every quick, fine-handling car.
SEAT has joined the fray in underlining just how quick its new Leon Cupra and Cupra 280 models are. It’s done this by breaking the front-wheel drive Nurburgring lap record with a time of 7:58.4 – around 10 seconds quicker than the previous fastest set by the Renaultsport Megane RS 265.
Packing 261bhp and 276bhp respectively, the Cupra and Cupra 280 are available to order now, with first deliveries shortly after the Geneva show has finished.

Fashionable Mii by Mango takes to the catwalk
SEAT has teamed up with Spanish fashion chain Mango to produce a special edition version of its fine Mii city car.
Mechanically the Mii by Mango runs the 74bhp edition of the 1.0-litre petrol engine but the finish is what sets this edition apart.
With a choice of Nude (think Caucasian-flesh tone shoes) and Deep Black paint, the Mii by Mango has additional badging, dark grey 15-inch alloy wheels, Alcantara faux suede upholstery and leather wraps for the steering wheel and gearknob.
The limited edition Mii by Mango arrives in the UK in the summer, the first coming complete with an umbrella and a handbag.
