Chevrolet Matiz (2005 - 2009) 1.0 SE 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
Purchased new with 35 miles on clock, now over 101,000, 13 years old and still in daily use. From a reliability and economical perspective, the best car we have ever purchased. Great around town and OK on longer drives. My wife loves it and although there are plenty of other high spec. cars available, I now have a brief to look for another Matiz to replace the current Matiz, which is just starting to show some signs of rust around the front offside wheel arch and the headlights are slightly discoloured at the top oh, and the dog chewed one of the rear window handles :-). We have another car for longer journeys but the high mileage of the Matiz is an indicator of how often it is used. It certainly has exceeded our expectations for a small and inexpensive vehicle. As it is now a high mileage vehicle we think that our luck may run out and maintenance costs / issues creep in so after a lucky 13 years, it is time to start again. That said, the car is still used on a daily basis!
How reliable do you find the car?
Usual expected consumables; tyres, brake pads, battery x2, exhaust x1, windscreen wiper blades, bulbs. Additional; wheel bearings x4, new clutch, dynamo x1 with new belt and pulleys and petrol filter x1 Serviced every 2nd or 3rd year, but DIY checked. Has never let us down over the 101,000 miles.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Drives well and is easy to drive, good visibility, economical (ish), five doors, spacious and ergonomic interior, air con/heating effective, comfortable. No serious mechanical or electrical problem. Great value for money.About their car
