Chrysler 300C Saloon (2005 - 2010) 3.0 V6 CRD 4d Auto Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
I bought it for its looks. Big, square, imposing, stately beast, as aerodynamic as a brick! A statement car that doesn't sacrifice character for the sake of fuel consumption. Not a "jelly mould" like many other marques. With a 3 litre turbo Mercedes diesel engine, it can really shift the 2 tonnes of metal when your foot goes down. It's a real head turner, but with substance, not just a facade. I paid £5000 for it when it was 12 years old with 47,000 miles on. Cheap as chips for such a beautiful piece of engineering. It's mint. I've put 10k on it in 12 months and enjoyed every mile. Leather interior, cruise control, heated memory seats, adjustable everything make it really comfortable to drive. Brilliant Boston sound system. Massive boot, loads of leg room in the front and back. I love this car, and so does everyone who travels in it. Always liked cars with character, I've owned an MG, Z3, Renault 25, Rover 75, Jaguar, and this fits the bill for me. Not needed much work yet, but parts are easy to get and surprisingly cheap. Research suggests that the suspension components wear out on these, but even that's only a few hundred quid DIY. I'm keeping this until the diesel pumps run dry and those electric toy jelly moulds take over the world.
How reliable do you find the car?
Rear offside door handle broke. Flimsy plastic, poor design with a weak point. Couldn't find a replacement so strengthened and fixed myself. Wheelnut covers have expanded over the years so that the wheel brace wouldn't fit. Bought new ones for £26, cheap fix. Fuel hose leak on filter, cheap DIY fix. Handbrake release is loose, not investigated yet.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
On board computer really useful. Programmable stuff like whether the mirrors tilt down when reversing, whether lights delay on exit, whether the headlights come on when the windscreen wipers are operating, etc etc. Brilliant.About their car
