Chrysler 300C Touring (2006-2010) running costs and reliability

Fuel economy
Fuel economy is a concern on the petrol engines. Although the 5.7-litre HEMI uses a system that shuts down part of the engine when it’s cruising on the motorway, it still only returns 23mpg on the combined cycle and it’s worse when you’re pushing. The 3.5 V6 is little better with 25mpg. Insurance groups are reasonable for a car of this size and pace, ranging from 16 for the CRD to 18 for the V8 HEMI.
The 300C performs badly on the eco front and even the most efficient engine – the CRD – emits 220g/km of CO2 and is capable of 34mpg. That’s poor compared to rivals from BMW and Audi.
The good news is that the 300C is built in Austria, where quality standards are stricter than in America. It seems to have worked, as 300C feels well put together and we’ve not heard any reports of problems.
