Chrysler Delta (2011 - 2013) 1.6 M-Jet SR Nav 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
Buying a used Lancia Delta that's been rebadged as a Chrysler means you'll get a lot of car for your money, as this FCA exercise has massively under-valued these cars here in the UK. In fact they're about half the price you'd expect to pay for the equivalent car if bought in mainland Europe, so tremendous value! The driving factor behind this rapid depreciation was that UK journalist reviews at launch never did this car any justice for two reasons. The first being FCA deciding to resurrect the Delta name and then to place it on this family C segment car that resembles nothing of it's rally heritage. So for those of us old enough to remember the 'gruppe B' rally cars going sideways through a forest stage, we were only ever going to be disappointed! Then secondly putting an American badge on an Italian car which only aided in confusing the buying public and gave the motoring journo's something to whinge about. Both of these faux-pas killed any chance of it ever being successful on this side of the channel... However to the knowledgeable few a bargain car was born.
The best way to view this car is as an alternative to the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, only much cheaper and in many ways better, especially given the price difference when you compare like for like. It has pretty much the same engine range and driving dynamics, just with better rear legroom and a more adaptable boot with the sliding rear seats. Looks are marmite, but if you like individuality, cheap running costs with servicing about the same as a Fiat Bravo then take a closer look.
