What is miles per pound?
Fuel economy
A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test.
Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 25 - 35 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Fuel consumption is a reasonable 35mpg, servicing is cheap, as are the parts. Insurance is similar to other cars in the class but depreciation is worse than average on newer cars (although it’s not as much of an issue as the car gets older).
Neon has established itself as a largely trouble-free vehicle – no doubt the three-year/60,000-mile warranty has helped. Some niggles from loose trim and electrics.
