Chrysler Neon 2.0 LX 4d Auto (2000/V) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Extremely good value for the equipment level.
Costs
A little thirsty but generally (and somewhat surprisingly) parts are cheap.
-
On the road
Driving
Ride is sturdy and secure. Handling is responsive. As easy to drive around town as on the motorway.
Performance
Swift from a standstill, especially for an auto. Quite noisy at speed.
-
Living with it
Reliability
I have known the car from new and so far there have been no major problems.
Image
Contrary to popular opinion, I find the styling very distinctive and appealing.
Comfort
The auto box, air con and the other "toys" help to take your mind off the rather hard suspension. Although sporty in feel, the Neon would have benefited from a slightly softer set-up.

Security and Service
Security
I find the factory fitted immobiliser does the job adequately.
Service
The previous owner experienced a few recurring problems with their dealer but I have no complaints so far.

Unrefined and a little harsh at speed, it is a reliable unit nevertheless.
