Summary
What does this car say about you?
It's not for the shy and retiring, it's a very individual car and a brave decision from Chrysler, shame it couldn't have been badged as Daimler over here as Chrysler conjurs up images of the 70's Alpine, Avenger and Horizon.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
you either love it or hate it, I've had a couple of people tell me it looks hidious but how can you take offence from boring Astra drivers.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes I just have. There's nothing else like it on the roads, it's like owning a classic without all the rust.
What are you likely to buy next?
Probably another PT Cruiser

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£6,000
When did you buy the car?
January 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
Disappointed with the trade in price on my old petrol PT Cruiser, but it's because they depreciate more than a VW that they make good second hand buys, so I guess I cant have it both ways
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Like most people who buy a Cruiser I bought this car because of the way it looks, the van like space is also very usefull.
What was the dealer like?
Like most dealers they will say anything but their prayers to get a sale.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
It's no road burner and it tends to wallow into corners, it's most at home in a straight line on the motorway.
What's it like to park?
Not very agile and coupled with poor rear visability it can be a bit awkward but you get used to it.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Instrument cluster went crazy on the first day, apparently this is not an isolated fault, and you cant just buy one from a breakers as they have to be programmed to the specific vehicle. Also the suspension bushes were worn causing a knocking noise, this is a common fault.
What's most practical about your car?
Good dual purpose vehicle : Can transport the family in comfort, or remove the seats and use it as a van although the seats do weigh a tonne.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Limited edition is loaded with toys, even the Classic had much more than you'd get from Ford or Vauxhall at entry level.
