Summary
What does this car say about you?
I guess it says we found a car that does all the standard stuff, yet stands out from the crowd.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
"Oh, that's unusual. What is it?".
Would you buy this car again and why?
We have probably done the Cruiser thing now – but it's still a nice choice for other people looking for something different without sacrificing everyday practicality.
What are you likely to buy next?
Something with a similar combination of flair and functionality.

Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£3,000

June 2012
Did you get a good deal and why?
The price seemed a little steep, but there was not much choice to be had at the time.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
This one replaced a much-loved earlier model.
What was the dealer like?
Straightforward, no frills, gave me an honest description of the vehicle.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
With its 2.4 engine, this model is a lot more lively than the 2.0 – even with an auto box. Nothing spectacular, but enough to make for easy, well, cruising! Does what it says on the badge.
What's it like to park?
No exceptional problems, except that the turning circle is abysmally poor.
-
Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing except needing a replacement battery.
What's most practical about your car?
Despite its retro looks, the Cruiser is in fact a highly practical car. Load space with back seats partially or fully down is large and unobstructed. Rear passenger leg- and head-room is generous.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Heated front seats and cruise control.
