  • Economy

    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

Fairly reliable and low fuel consumption.

    Costs

    2 out of 5 2.0

Broken cam-belt spoilt an otherwise excellent reliability experience over 35,000 miles in 2 years. 36 mpg.

  • On the road

    Driving

    3 out of 5 3.0

Pedals and steering wheel are "out of line" with the driving position.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Better than the average Joe would guess from the outside appearances. Steering takes some getting used to but is otherwise reassuringly up to the usual Citroen roadholding standard. Use it as a removal/builders van, or bandwagon, or just put 2 bikes in.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

Always started first time and the only thing that needed changing over 54 months were the tires.

    Image

    3 out of 5 3.0

Forget all that crap about "ooh, it's a little too van like" - it IS a van, and all the better for it!

    Comfort

    2 out of 5 2.0

Ridiculous headroom, ideal for the more than six footers. Ride in the rear can be a bit firm and the seats not very well padded and quite upright. Four doors would really improve the convenience if you have regular passengers.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

Absolutely nobody dared to steal it or even vandalise it, but if looks could kill.

    Service

    2 out of 5 2.0

The main dealers are not interested in servicing such a cheap model. Find an ex-Citroen back-street guy.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

Persist stall that requires the Citroen engineer computer (main dealer job) - could be carb sensor?

    Other

Persistent key lock problem. Cam-belt went without warning necessitating a head overhaul - expensive and a potential write-off on a car of this book value!

    Ownership

Did you buy the car new?

    Used

Would you buy the same model again?

    Yes

Did you buy from the same manufacturer again?

    Yes
