Like most others in the van-based MPV class, we’d go for the diesel. Although the 1.4 and 1.6 are lively and willing, the 2.0 TD performs better with a full load and is remarkably refined. It’s economical, too.
There’s considerable bodyroll, but handling is surprisingly agile. All the controls are light, there’s a good gearchange and the steering is precise. Even around town it feels quite nimble.
