Driving position is poor and shows Berlingo’s van roots – it’s too upright and quickly becomes uncomfortable. But the dash is intuitively laid out and easy to use.

On the motorway, loud engines and wind noise intrude. Air-conditioning is a must in summer (because of the large glass windows) but it’s a £600 option.
