Citroën C4 Picasso (2013 - 2018) Feel PureTech 130 S&S 5d 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
I liked everything about this car, and was in no doubt that I would replace the first one like for like when it got written off. (No serious injuries, despite being hit from the side at c 40mph)
But at seven years old the replacement has now let me down badly, and the fix applied the the dealers lasted less than two months, so they are now on their last chance to fix it (a six week wait has not exactly endeared them to me twice
How reliable do you find the car?
First one had a gearbox issue - lost top gear: took a while to fix. Written off at 2 years old when T-boned by someone running a red light.
Replacement (secondhand) had no problems at all until 7 years /50,000 miles, but now have a catalogue of issues, noisy suspension, tailgate strut failure and, most seriously, engine warning light coming on within a few minutes of starting and "stop" light if sudden braking or change of direction. It has been in once to fix the latter problem, told it was a worn timing belt, but problem recurred within two months : booked in to investigate again but six week wait for a date.
Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Love the space, adjustable rear seats, light and airy cabin (huge windscreen), automatic tailgate (on the first one). Only gripe other than recent reliability issues is the climate control being on the same screen as satnav, which can lead to conflict (passenger has an unerring habit of wanting to adjust the controls just as i am approacing a junction).
On safety, all I can say is that everybody walked away after my first one was hit broadside at 40mph - although the car itself was a write off
