Citroën C4 Picasso (2013 - 2018) Flair BlueHDi 150 5d Owner Review

In their own words
This could be a great car but it's seriously let down by it's awful driving characteristics.
The concept is excellent and in many ways Citroen have delivered - practicality is good, the engine is great and it's a good looking modern car.
However I have one major issue - the absolutely woeful suspension. It is probably the most uncomfortable car I have ever driven and I've probably driven 30+ cars. It's suspension is hard and crashy yet you get no upside to it as it's not great to drive either. And at speed it can feel wallowy and seems to pitch about a lot like you're on about. Buying a Citroen I didn't expect a great drive but I did expect comfort but awful suspension really spoils the car. It really is the worst of both worlds.
Other negatives are the rubbish gearbox which is notchy and downright noisy in it's action and the boot space isn't actually that big, it's got the vertical depth but the footprint isn't so deep. Also the equipment levels are frustrating. I've got the top of the range flair and I've got lovely LED tail lights yet rubbish Halogen headlights. I've got massage seats that aren't heated (how hard would it have been to put the heating element in when the electrics are already there). And the sound system is so-so.
Positives - the 2.0 Hdi is lovely, a little bit old school in it's delivery as you get a slug of torque around 1600-1700 rpm however it doesn't drop off completely so you can rev it a bit. Practically in front of the boot is great, loads of flexibility with the seats, the 3 individual rear seats are brilliant and it's very good for transporting 5 of us including a bulky baby seat. I personally love the van like driving position too, you can set it up so your legs are pretty much at 90 degrees rather than stretched out which is more relaxing for me.
All in all I could forgive the minor negatives IF Citroen had sorted the suspension out but unfortunately it completely spoils the car for me and I'm already getting fed up of avoiding pot holes.
