Summary
What does this car say about you?
Mug.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Never asked them.
Would you buy this car again and why?
No. The reliability just isn't there. It also feels very cheap inside with the hard plastic. I don't know how long the control knobs will last, they always seem like they will break off every time you use them.
What are you likely to buy next?
Probably a Honda with their bullet reliability.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£7,500
When did you buy the car?
September 2007
Did you get a good deal and why?
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Needed an automatic and was quite taken by the C4.
What was the dealer like?
-
Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Slow. The 1.6 linked to an automatic gearbox does not make for swift driving. Overtaking manouvers have to be well thought out. I am 6ft 2 and have major problems with blind spots. The biggest one is the rear view mirror. The other being the screen pillars; quite often on sharp right handers I have to lean to the left to see where I am going.
What's it like to park?
Reasonable.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Yes. Had a recall for the sensors to be replaced. Came to a halt when it told me the engine overheated, when in fact the sensor had split and water had got into it. Developed a loud rattle when in reverse as the heat sheild had come loose. The rear suspension is now starting to make some strange noises. The idle speed of the engine changes when stopped; in an auto it means the car is always trying to lunge forwards - makes you look like a right boy racer....
What's most practical about your car?
It has an engine.
