Citoren C4 safety systems are many and varied. The car was awarded a maximum of five stars in the Euro NCAP crash tests and performed particularly well for child safety and active safety systems. All cars come with stability control and six airbags as standard. Another good feature is the eTouch service. So if you breakdown or crash simply push a button and it will call through to a breakdown service or emergency services and they will locate the car accurately through this.

Citroen C4 practicality is excellent. The 408 litres of boot space is impressive and is the best in its class with plenty of room for luggage. This extra room in the boot hasn’t eaten too much into the rear space either.

The C4 will take four adults fairly comfortably – a long journey may be some concern – while limited rear-seat legroom could cause some problems for rear passengers.

Headroom is excellent in the rear, though. On automatic models drivers also get a large, refrigerated central cubby and there are plenty of small spaces dotted around the rest of the cabin for bits and bobs.
