Summary
What does this car say about you?
I buy a car for what I want and not because car magazines tell me I should buy it.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Appreciate the space, comfort and ride.
Would you buy this car again and why?
If I had the need again for a huge comfortable estate car - most definitely, yes.
What are you likely to buy next?
Something smaller - do not need the C5's space any more.
-
Buying experience

Franchised

Yes
What price did you pay?
£13,620
When did you buy the car?
March 2003
Did you get a good deal and why?
Bought the car online at HUGE discount. Surprised to be able to get March 1st registration - expected car to be 'pre-registered'.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Space and motorway cruising ability.
What was the dealer like?
Friendly, efficient.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
If you want a sports car, don't buy a C5. The C5 is has a soft, cosseting ride, and grips well, though is a bit floaty over B-road undulations.
What's it like to park?
Big. Wife has scraped all four corners.
-
Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Car now going after nearly 9 years and 140,000 miles. Other than routine replacements (tyres, brakes, etc) the only mechanical part to be replaced is a starter motor.
What's most practical about your car?
Huge space and comfort. Plenty of small storage places too.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
No special favourite. Strongly DISLIKE the auto windscreen wipers that wipe more than needed and scratch the screen.
