Summary
What does this car say about you?
I like my cars on the bigger side and have grown out of sporty little numbers in favour of a great, economical ride.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
I think they think its in the Audi/VW/BMW league. Its a good looking car; I think they think we're better off than we are!
Would you buy this car again and why?
I think so. Only had it 6 months and done about 4000 miles. It's great for motorway cruising.
What are you likely to buy next?
Not sure yet. If this one proves to be reliable over a 2 to 3 year period, I'll likely stick with it. Maybe resist the indulkgence of the 2.2 engine which is a little less economical than the 2.0l hatchback I had before.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£6,800
When did you buy the car?
June 2012
Did you get a good deal and why?
Bought from BCA at Measham. Seems like a decent deal. BCA is not a cheap auction house, but they provide independant graded reports and photos. The car was a de-leased Citroen UK car with full Citroen main dealer service history. It has slightly over-average mileage but I have been able to check its usage and performance with the previous user.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Had a C5 2.0l hatchback; happy with it; it was written off (no fault).
What was the dealer like?
Efficient, clean, professional.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Extremely good ride; great power from the 2.2l 173 engine.
What's it like to park?
This is a big car. Reversing sensors are a great bonus; pity this version hasn't got sensors on the front too.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Failed headlight bulb; broken plastic retainer on driver's seat rear airbag mounting; flaking chrome leaf on underside of electric handbrake pull. Cruise control/speed limiter occasionally switches itself into PAUSE mode, goes dead and cannot be used without switching the car off and (I presume) re-booting the ECU.
What's most practical about your car?
Big, powerful, comfortable, stylish - although I sense that the load space isn't as functional as the previous C5 hatch - the car is sleeker and lower then the C5 hatch.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
I like and hate the remote opening boot. It is very handy when approaching the car carrying bulky items but it has the tendancy to go into ECOMONY MODE too readily, disabling the remote boot opening, at which stage it becomes pretty hard to open and close manually.
