Economy
Value
I bought new and got £6K off list price, great initial value but undoubtedly the later resale value will reflect this. Given the superb specification, it is arguably a hell of a lot of car for the money. Fit and finish is good, but some flimsy plastics.
Costs
I've never got anywhere near the advertised MPG figure of 39 overall. Average is 31-33 mpg.

Driving
Easy to drive with good all round visibility. All controls just where you want them. Very quiet with little engine or wind noise.
Performance
I would have liked the 2.2 Hdi but in use I've never found the 2.0 less than adequate.

Living with it
Reliability
In the 10 months of ownership so far nothing has failed. The tailgate exterior handle was replaced because the brushed aluminium effect coating started to peel.
Image
Citroen has a quirky image but the C8 is a well thought out package. I think it is the best looking MPV around and certainly more attractive than its Peugeot and Fiat stablemates.
Comfort
Typically French, soft seats and ride. Excellent motorway cruiser. The tri-zone climate control is very good with no area of the car ever feeling stuffy. The radio/cd is useless however, with not enough power for such a large cabin.

Security and Service
Security
Having achieved 5 stars in the euro crash tests, it provides peace of mind with regard to safety. Car alarm is standard and has not proved as temperamental as other cars I've owned
Service
I dread car dealers, but my local Citroen dealer has been excellent in every respect.
