Citroën DS3 (2010 - 2015) 1.6 e-HDi Airdream DStyle (95g/km) 3d Owner Review

I bought the DS3 used as I really liked the car styling (Also my wife had one I like very much), the 90bhp diesel feels very torquey and a joy to drive. Heaps of character. I do enjoy the car despite its faults (below), its cheap to run, the DS3.co.uk club is fun. However, they have flaws and DS automobiles are not interested despite being within warranty, because I bought from a dealer outside of their approved used network. The car has developed bubbles in the paint underneath the door mirror, this broke away revealing rusty metal. This is a common problem caused by no rubber between the mirror base and paintwork which damages the paint allowing it to corrode. I spoke with a dealer who firstly attempted to get Citroen UK to resolve for me, they would not. The dealer said the fault had been identified and prevented on new DS3's, it has not been, it still happens I see in the DS3 club. I have also tried through a 2nd dealer and then directly to DS automobiles. Other issues. The armrest makes it difficult to operate handbrake and also in the way of gear change unless you have the seat adjusted higher than would normally like it. The diamond cut wheels look great but easily corrode under the lacquer. Not a big problem. Also corrosion to exhaust brackets is common. Can be rewelded if you know somebody easily/cheaply enough.
