Citroën e-C3 Aircross verdict
Should you buy one?
Yes, you should. The Citroen e-C3 Aircross is a stylish, practical and comfortable electric family SUV that is a very welcome addition to this class. Like the Vauxhall Frontera it shares so much in common with, it represents fantastic value for money, with driving manners and an interior that doesn’t feel as cheap as the price suggests.
The e-C3 Aircross doesn’t just undercut all-electric SUVs but also many far smaller electric cars. A Fiat 500e, for example, starts from £2,000 more. But we won’t pretend this Citroen is a car for everyone. Its range and performance are both compromised and could prove a dealbreaker if you regularly do longer trips, though, which is worth considering before you buy.
We think the Long Range model due on sale later in 2025 could well be the sweet spot in the line-up, providing it’s not significantly more expensive.
What we like
The e-C3 Aircross represents outstanding value yet is still well-equipped. Its spacious interior is well set up for family life, and it’s comfortable and drives better than you’d expect for the price.
What we don’t like
There is lots of road noise, especially at motorway speeds, and the performance is weak. The range might just prove too limited for some.
