Economy
Value
As a first car, it makes pretty good sense, even brand new. However, now that I'm reaching 21, there are so many better options available, especially 2nd hand.
Costs
Cheap to run and cheap-ish to insure, depending on age. Hideous 1st year insurance for me (I was 18) of £1700. But otherwise, very good.

On the road
Driving
Rolls quite a lot, but good handling for a little car and fun to hustle along backroads. Lack of power steering sometimes annoying when feeling tired, but gives very direct feel.
Performance
Very, very slow. A mere 50bhp and 0-60 eventually, though betters its claimed top speed of 93mph: I've had an indicated 99mph, with a good few hundred revs left. Overall, more noise than poise.

Living with it
Reliability
No problems so far (touch wood) and has handled city life as well as a 1500-mile tour of Wales with no complaints.
Image
Sportier models have some credibility, though for many, they bring about images of baseball-capped yobs. Lesser models are seen as cramped, slow and outdated.
Comfort
Surprisingly comfy seat and driving position, apart from general lack of room, tiny, cramped footwell and seat/wheel position that means I have to drive with my knees wide apart to turn the wheel.

Security and Service
Security
Immobiliser means no one will drive it away. Standard stereo has market value of about £5, so that's pretty safe too.
Service
Pretty good, though less impressed with the level of service concerning some recent accident damage being repaired.
