Citroën Saxo 1.6i VTR 3d (97) (2002/52) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Cheap as chips. A lot of performance for you pound and free insurance!!
Costs
The car will not cost you much until later in its life.

On the road
Driving
Seat position and footwell are the only problems when driving. Sharp steering and good visibility means in and out of town is a real breeze.
Performance
Offer the car a fast road with lots of bends and it really does come in to its own, snapping at the heels of any Mini Cooper. The light lift-off over-steer makes you feel like a real pro.

Living with it
Reliability
Absolutely, catagorically the worst car I have ever bought. It just has one problem after the next, whether the airbox is dropping off or the exhaust needs replacing after 6k miles! NOT GOOD.
Image
Still a bit cheeky with a mild exterior revamp. Slight boy racer image. Overall average.
Comfort
Not too bad. Slightly choppy on the motorway. Seats have improved on the newer models, but find a route with no speed humps!

Security and Service
Security
Went shopping, locked the car with the boot open to unload and shut the boot with my keys on the shelf. 1 old coat hanger, remove the window seal, a quick fiddle and the locks were up. GET AN ALARM!!
Service
Don't even go there. Work this out: 6 visits in 2 months, 1 letter of complaint and on going problems! I love Citroens!
