What is miles per pound?
Fuel economy
A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test.
Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 32 - 54 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

The economical engines return around 43mpg on average across the range (although automatic models are somewhat thirstier). Combine that with cheap servicing and surprisingly strong re-sale values (stronger than the Peugeot 106) and it’s no surprise that Saxo is still sought after: even the hot Saxos are affordable and very popular with young racers.
Reliable if looked after, but watch out for thrashed engines from pimply wannabee street racers. Not just the hot ones, most teenage abuse is inflicted on the cheap-to-buy-and-run 1.1 versions.
