Citroën Xantia Estate 1.9 TD LX 5d (AC) (1997/P) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
The first owner paid £16k at 3 years old; I paid £4K - as cheap as chips!
Costs
I average 42mpg. Only group 10 insurance, but frequent niggling problems costs add up.
-
On the road
Driving
Excels on bumpy country roads, but a competant cruiser as well.
Performance
A narrow power band makes overtaking tricky. Needs a 6-speed 'box.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Clutch cable clip, cambelt tensioner, alarm, central locking, suspension spheres...
Image
Who cares about image? I've got two small children.
Comfort
Excellent, particularly when packed to the roof, when the self-levelling is worth its weight in gold.
-
Security and Service
Security
Alarm has never worked. Central locking is dickey. When maximum security is required, I take the keys out of the ignition.
Service
Find an independent specialist.
