Citroën Xantia Estate 2.0 HDi SX (110bhp) 5d (AC) (2001/Y) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Cheap as chips - my 3 year old car cost £4k - was £18.5k new.
Costs
Cheap road tax, cheap insurance and up to 75 (yes 75) mpg. Easy to service and parts are dirt cheap. I just did a major service for £50.00 in parts. Avoid dealers!

On the road
Driving
Very comfortable, but suspension has been stiffened by Citroen - better handling but bumpier ride.
Performance
Fast for a diesel and stunning handling, much stiffer than the older models, but grip is excellent by any standard.
-
Living with it
Reliability
12 months, no problems at all - 125k on the clock and pulls like a train. To all you people who think Citroens are unreliable I have covered 250,000 miles in old Xantias in the last seven years and I have not had a single serious problem - beat that Merc!
Image
Who cares - I still reckon it looks better than anything the Germans produce - are you all blind out there?
Comfort
Not as wallowy and armchair like as my older Xantias, but still better than ye olde cart springs on most cars.

Security and Service
Security
Simply because no-one will nick it! Has alarm and so-on, never tested.
Service
Didn't come from the manufacturer, but I asked them a question about suspension settings which was answered by email in 24 hours.
