Economy
Value
These cars are far too cheap, you'll struggle to find anything that's better value
Costs
Don't be put off by scaremongering about service costs any competant mechanic can look after them, even the suspension! Parts costs are better than a lot of foreign cars, even other French ones

On the road
Driving
Tough to beat, there's not much that drives better then these! As a former car salesman, the Xantia is one of the very few I would spend my own money on.
Performance
120+mph, sub 10 sec 0-60, high 40's mpg (even driven hard)......need I say more???

Living with it
Reliability
Got it with 60k, now done 130k (the hard way!) and it's let me down once when the crank pulley broke up at 110k....I've known a lot worse, even amongst so called 'well made' German/Swedish competition...
Image
To those who know, this is a real gem......prices are well below what they should be, so go and by one while it's a well kept secret!!!!
Comfort
Didn't get a 5 because seat squab could offer a bit more support for my long legs, but the ride/handling is the best in the World!!!
-
Security and Service
Security
Not the joyrider's favourite, and mine's got a factory alarm and deadlocks.......it hasnt been nicked or broken into, so it must be good
Service
As above, don't be put off by horror stories about needing specialist knowledge...get a Haynes manual and there's nothing you can't do on your drive.......even the suspension!

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Bit noisier than when it was new, but that was 130k ago, and I've changed the oil 3 times in 70k........!!!!!!
Other
Starting to feel a bit 'loose' now, but then it's been used and abused for 130k now........believe me, there's a lot of cars that would've cried ""enough"" by now!!!!
