Citroën Xantia Hatchback 2.0i LX 5d (1994/L) Owner Review

-
Economy
Value
Decent goodies and everything works.
Costs
Look around rather than going to Citroen. Specialists cheaper for hydraulics and you can DIY. No work for last two MOTs.
-
On the road
Driving
Light power steering and great brakes. Rear visibilty not brilliant, but get used to it.
Performance
Quick enough, but no firebreather.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Must have got a good one. Look after it and it won't let you down. It won't rust unless you can't be bothered with sorting out stone chips.
Image
If you buy a Citroen, you don't want something that looks like everything else.
Comfort
It's a Citroen. Less bumpy than same age Mondeo, but not such sharp handling. Everything adjusts to where you want it.
-
Security and Service
Security
Alarm, keypad immobiliser and coded radio, but not enough hidden storage and no lock on glove box. Doesn't get stolen though.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Other
Boot locks itself occasionally - minor niggle.
