Citroën XM Hatchback 2.0 Si 5d (2002/51) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
I got mine for £200 and it's still going nicely.
Costs
Depreciation is not a factor at this level - very cheap motoring. Get bits from scrapyards. Nearly 30mpg from an auto's not bad.

On the road
Driving
Quite good, but a bit heavier to handle than a CX.
Performance
On kick-down, the gearbox has to think about it before letting rip. However, if you're not in a tearing hurry...

Living with it
Reliability
Only very minor problems. Sailed through its MOT, much to my mechanic's surprise! Auto 'box can't make up its mind which gear to be in on steep hills. Eccentric electrics sometimes!
Image
Who cares? One for the individualists.
Comfort
Very nice and smooth. Mine's not as comfortbale as a Citroen CX, but much better than just about any other make.

Security and Service
Security
No one's going to nick it.
Service
I never go to official dealers. I always have it serviced by independent Citroen specialists. Easy and much cheaper.

Engine
