Citroën Xsara Coupe 1.4i West Coast 3d (1999/T) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Bought with one owner, FSH, high mileage (105k miles). Very cheap to buy. Excellent value.
Costs
40-45 mpg. Local garage carries out cheap repairs.

On the road
Driving
Nice handling, clutch a bit sticky sometimes, and gears 1st to 2nd a bit crunchy on occasions but probably due to mileage.
Performance
Not fast, but nippy enough.

Living with it
Reliability
Apart from a poorly fitted exhaust (by non-local garage, but not main dealer either), and worn drive shaft that needed replacing, it's been 100% reliable for the 5000 miles I've done in it (now on 110k miles)
Image
Bought some alloy wheels (cheap!) to put onto it. Might make it look a bit nicer. Not a desirable car, but a pleasant one to own.
Comfort
Would've had 5 points if it had Air Con. I've owned an Audi A6, and this is easily as comfy, not as quiet though.

Security and Service
Security
Deadlocks, remote locking... not sure what else. But doubt it'd be stolen, not the most desirable car for thieves (good thing in my book).
Service
I use local garage.

Very small leak somewhere (doesn't seem to leave oil on the ground though).
