Economy
Value
Buy at discount otherwise depreciation will hit you badly. I bargained £3000 off list price of mine. You get lots of goodies and a great car for the money though.
Costs
It's OK on petrol. Cheap on insurance. Servicing at Citroen was OK too.

On the road
Driving
Comfy. Handles well. Controls easy to use and close to hand. I love it.
Performance
Engine revs with enthusiasm. Change gear at 5,500rpm and you've got good acceleration :-) Brakes are just as good too! Handles very well on smooth tarmac. Tends to jump across bumpy or rippled surfaces.

Living with it
Reliability
Sticky brake calliper at 40,000miles. Other than that, it's been fine.
Image
Not so trendy, but VTR better than standard Xsara. Usually people are impressed though once they've got in and had a ride in it!
Comfort
Interior exudes comfort and luxury. Can drive 5 hours in it and still get out feeling fresh. Passengers usually fall asleep it's so comfy.

Security and Service
Security
No different to other cars of similar age.
Service
Citroen dealers vary. Dixons were quite good. Avoid Perry's! Local Citroen specialists M&M are good.
